Poland - Plate Boundaries

Poland is apart of the Eurasian plate boundary which is one of the larger plates ! (Which makes sense because Europe + Asia are huge continents). These plates rest between the North American and African plate. Unfortunately for Poland, its west side has a divergent plate boundary. This type of plate boundary pulls away from each other and separates into 2 plates. Notably, this plate is an oceanic plate and a continental plate. This region and plate boundary are typically more active than others. Major hazards of plate boundary are volcanoes, and floods (something Poland is already relatively known for).

  1. It would be interesting to see how what you found out about its tectonics is affecting its seismicity.
